We had a great day today feasting :) ...but missing Rosanna. We have so much for which to be thankful. Robert had 3 days of work this week - half days, and he was a little extra tired today, but he has enjoyed getting back to his job. Now he has the weekend to get caught up and try 5 half days next week. I am thankful for God's hand of grace throughout, not only this illness, but throughout our lives. I am especially thankful for friends and family. Tonight I want to ask you to pray for both my brothers. My younger brother Mike is still having headaches and without finding any other cause, the Dr believes he has a virus. He is managing life with lots of pain medication...and after they seemed to be improving for awhile, this morning he said they have been worse the last five days. When they are bad, he battles a lot of nausea too. I don't like having a headache for one day - he has had them everyday since the end of August. Please pray for relief and/or a change in diagnosis, medication or something that would bring relief.
My older brother Brian and his wife, Laurel, are facing difficult decisions and transitions. Their son Willy has been wheelchair bound for many years now, and in spite of his physical decline, they have continued to keep him in their home and provide for all of his care, 24/7. This has been challenging at best and exhausting at worst. Willy has actually outlived the life expectancy for his disease, but now his brain and mental abilities are being affected and life has become more difficult than ever. His Dr suggests finding a rest home or care home where Willy could get the care he needs and Brian and Laurel can get the help and relief they need. Moving a family member out of your home is always a difficult decision but in this case, they are finding it particularly challenging - none of the facilities they have contacted are willing to take him. Please pray for this family to be led to the right resources they need, for the strength they need to keep walking down this difficult path, and for the peace of God to guard their troubled hearts.
Thank you for caring for us and for our family. Thanks for taking the time to stop and talk to our Father about all of us.

Wow!!
Glad to hear you've had a blessed week...keep getting your rest and spending time with God, for your renewal.
Jeanette...You have alot on your plate to pray for...Mom and I witnessed at the Beach/Morro Bay Rock, a couple helping their special needs' child...I said to Mom, boy what effort and patience and love they have to care for this child...What we don't know...it's amazing how your family has cared for your nephew, and I pray that God will give them wisdom, directions, peace and rest...in their decisions ahead.
God says he knows us by Name- I know that God knows your nephews name, Robert's name, and all of us by name. Remembering Psalms and how the Shepherd knows us by name and protects us....says:
God's word says that, "The Lord is my Shepherd; I have everything I need. Psalms 23:1- We need a Shepherd to help care for us, to guide us, and to help us defend the evil lion who prowls about seeking whom he might devour.
Let's continue to pray for the shepherd to lead us to calm waters, to lead us with protection, and to lead us to the paths that are right-Psalms 23:3
We Love you dearly..Let's continue to pray for each other daily..

Robert - So glad you were able to tolerate the parttime hours back at work. It sounds like you had the right amount so that you were not in the exhausted category.
About Mike - could he be helped by a pain specialist? If he could get a referral to one, they can probably get his xrays to the specialist. Or, he may need additional xrays before receiving any injections for pain relief.
About Brian & family - is it possible to get help in the home?
Check with their insurance, it may cover home care. At least try to get help for the night shift so they get some rest.
These are suggestions. Not knowing their total needs it's difficult to know exactly what to say. However, I am giving you an educated opinion. Of course, I will pray for them.

Jeanette,
Our God is so good. His generosity never ceases to amaze and encourage me. I have read back over the last several entries in your blog. You have done an amazing job of giving God glory for all He has done.
You are one of the people in my life for whom I am especially thankful this Thanksgiving weekend.
You and your precious family are in my prayers.
Love, Lisa
Robert,
I'm thankful that you are still here on earth to be with your wife, kids, and family. Today, during our church service, we sang, the doxology:
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye Heavenly Host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
These words always pop into my head when I hear good news and when God needs to hear our praise! So, that all trigger the thought that I have not told you that I'm thankful that you all still around. Thanks for hanging around here on earth. Pranks and all!
Love,
Your sis,
Karen
