Sunday, Sept 7th....4:15pm
They just took Dad to get a biopsy to check for the presence of infection. A surgeon has been consulted, but we won't know if he needs surgery for one to two weeks. There is a possibility of kidney failure over time while he is still on the ventilator, and will more than likely need temporary dialysis. The doctor is now calling what Dad has a drug induced pancreatitis. He has been on two different medications that have in rare occasions have caused pancreatitis. They are saying that he will probably be in ICU for two to four weeks. But there is always the possibility of a miracle, so keep praying! My mom and I will be checking this several times a day, and you can leave a message/comment for us on here. Again, thank you for all your prayers and support!

We continue to pray without ceasing for Robert. It is hard to think this is even happening. God's children faithfully pull together when one of his children is hurting. Thank you for posting an update so we can be updated about your dad's condition. We are praying out here in Indiana with our family & and Roy's family. Your dad is on our prayer line out here.
Your dad is so faithful in keeping in touch with so many friends and family members. Now, it is our turn to pray without ceasing for his healing.

Please know that the Howden family has been praying daily and will continue to. I tried to stop in on Saturday but the front desk said it was not possible than. I am on my way out of town for a week with work but will track this through the blog while on the road. We're all praying buddy.

Thank you for keeping us posted. We were surprised with the news of your Dad's condition, though our Heavenly Father wasn't, and that is comforting. We are missionaries in Brazil, my husband, Philip Stucky, played soccer with your Dad in college. We praise the Lord for the power and privilege of prayer. It helps bridge the many miles that separate us from family and friends. Be assured of our prayers for each of you and let us know how the Lord answers. Your dad and I worked together at Whiteaker for 4 years. I don't work there anymore but did a training there last Tuesday. Your dad was standing in front of the school and gave me a hug when he saw me. It is almost unbelievable that just a few hours later he was this ill. Your dad is a gem and, of course, I will be praying for him and your family. I will ask that he be put on the prayer chain at my church, Keizer Clear Lake United Methodist Church. Your dad is very special to me and I just hope that God will send us a miracle. Your dad is one of a kind!
