Thursday Sept 11, 2008

It has been a busy day.
Robert is now getting nutrition through his n/j tube - the first food in 6 days! Yippee!!!
He also was able to get the CT scan and needle aspiration. I am waiting to talk to the Dr. to get some results of the scan. The best part of today was the fact they could do two procedures in the same day - he stayed stable enough to do that! Yesterday they couldn't even do one.
He has continued to respond more and more. He opened his eyes on command twice! The first time Robby and my dad were in the room with me, as well as two nurses...when those eyes fluttered and stayed open a second or two, we all cheered. Later the Dr. asked Robert to open his eyes and he actually turned his head toward the Dr and opened them for a few seconds! Response is GOOD!
They have backed off the ventilator some and he is breathing more on his own. If he stays stable tonight the Dr is hopeful there will be positive changes tomorrow.
Robby has seen his dad the last two days in a row...and handled it very well. This means he is recovering from the initial shock he experienced on his first visit. ICU is a scary place when you haven't experience it.
Rosanna is at work this evening - I have two friends with me...it's been a "good" day. I celebrated with ice cream!

I think we all should celebrate with ice cream! Hopefully tomorrow will be a day when he improves, not just stays stable. But most importantly, hopefully it will be a day when God gives the calm that Brian talked about. To everyone. May Jesus be exalted through everything because it's all about Him!

Thank you for letting us know how Bob is doing. I do not forget to pray and this helps me know what to pray for. One time, after my sister died this spring and I was overwhelmed with everything, my pastor reminded me that God sometimes does give us more than we can handle. It is during those times that he promises to give us his strength. We don't have to handle it ourselves. He will hold us up. I am praying that each of you senses His power and strength. We love you.

Rememberence of God's calm during the storm of 9/11, we can be thankful for God's miracles. It was a miracle today, to hear the good news of of his repsonse and procedures.

I know that Robert is a survivor, and I know God will give him strength to do it.

Mom wants to celebrate with you, so I guess will pull out the ice cream and have rootbeer floats tonight. Remember our rootbeer floats together. Yeah!!!

I'm glad to hear the news, it surely brings a smile to our faces.
God is so GOOD!!!

Love, Mom and Diane

Jeanette, family and extended family;

I praise God for the good news. I am so thankful for the Grace, Mercy, and Love God gives us every day. He provides us with a new perspective everyday so that we can became better ministers of His Truth. I thank you all for the example you have been and continue to be to so many people.

Robert has been my best friend for so many years and so consitent in His Love for the Savior and his family. He has and continues to remind me so often "Preach often and when necessary use words".

Your family is a true example of Life Style evangelism may God continue to give you His Strength, Grace, Mercy and Love as you all minister to others through this opportunity of Christian service.

I love you all and praise God for the gift of each one of you.

In His Peace;

Pete Coulson

Thank you so much for blogging about Bob's progress. We live in Brasil so this is a great way for us to keep current on Bob's progress. Be confident that you all are being lifted up from many places around the world. It is conforting to know that Bob is safely in God's hands. We will continue to pray for Bob and that God will continue to heal his body. May God's will be done!
